Merry Mandala Monday #4

Hi there, mandala time again!

In my stash of color materials I found some bottles of Ecoline® from Royal Talens, a ready to use liquid water color.  Not being used very often, my 'aged' set of 6 must be over 40 years old! When the sketch of this mandala was finished, I knew I wanted to do something with the ecoline. I was curious about what it would look like after I had outlined the shapes and drawn some details. Well, I'm still very happy with the result!

At the course we were told, that when you draw a rootless flower or tree, which represents you, it means you are not 'grounded', have a lack of self-confidence and self respect, and are not living in the present... Ouch! That's why I thought, it was better to give those little flowers those little roots, just in case... ;-)
By the way, does anyone know the symbolic meaning of dewdrops?? I've not been able to find anything so far!

Hallo daar, alweer mandala-tijd!

In mijn verzameling kleurmaterialen kwam ik een paar flesjes Ecoline® van Royal Talens tegen, kant en klare vloeibare waterverf. Ik heb het niet heel erg vaak gebruikt, en dus zal mijn 'bejaarde' set van 6 toch al gauw zo'n 40 jaar oud zijn! Toen de schets van deze mandala af was, wist ik dat ik iets met de ecoline wilde doen. Ik was benieuwd hoe het eruit zou zien, nadat ik de vormen had omgetrokken en wat details had getekend. Nou, ik ben nog steeds heel tevreden met het resultaat!

Tijdens de cursus werd gezegd, dat als je een wortelloze bloem of boom tekent, die jou voorstelt, dat dat dan betekent dat je niet 'geaard' bent, weinig zelfvertrouwen en zelfrespect hebt en dat je niet in het heden leeft... Au! Daarom dacht ik, dat ik die kleine blommetjes maar beter van worteltjes kon voorzien, gewoon voor 't geval dat... ;-)
Weet iemand trouwens de symbolische betekenis van dauwdruppels?? Ik heb namelijk nog steeds niets kunnen vinden!

For my elder daughter this mandala has always been very special... On Octobre 14, 2013, the day after she returned home from Suriname and my birthday, she had it tattooed on her arm.

Mijn oudste dochter heeft deze mandala altijd heel speciaal gevonden... Op 14 oktober 2013, de dag nadat ze is teruggekomen uit Suriname én mijn verjaardag, heeft ze hem op haar arm laten tatoeëren.
