"Earth Song"
Posted on April 26, 2013
It's no wonder, that during Weekly Challenge #115 with its subject "Earth Day", I immediately thought of Michael Jackson's "Earth Song"! It indicts us of neglecting the earth and is one big, emotional call to notice so and do something about it!
What about sunrise
What about rain ♫
What about all the things
That you said we were to gain... ♫
What about killing fields
Is there a time
What about all the things ♫
That you said was yours and mine...
Did you ever stop to notice ♫
All the blood we've shed before
Did you ever stop to notice ♫
This crying Earth these weeping shores?
Songwriter: Michael Jackson
Producers: Michael Jackson, Davis Foster and Bill Bottrell

"Diamonds (in the Sky)"
Posted on April 21, 2013
When I heard Rihanna's song "Diamonds" on the radio, it inspired me to change the pearls of Purk into a kind of diamond-like gems. I'm not really a Rihanna fan, but I like the lyrics and music of this song and it makes an appropriate name for my second entry for Weekly Challenge #114.
Shine bright like a diamond
Shine bright like a diamond ♫
Find light in the beautiful sea
I choose to be happy ♫You and I, you and I
We’re like diamonds in the sky ♫
You’re a shooting star I see ♫
A vision of ecstasyWhen you hold me, I’m alive ♫
We’re like diamonds in the sky
Songwriter: Sia Furler
Producers: Benny Blanco and StarGate

"Catch a Falling Star"
Posted on April 18, 2013
While I was working on the Diva's Weekly Challenge #114 I heard the shocking news about the two horrible bombings during the Boston Marathon on April 15, 2013. This lovely, tender song by Perry Como came into my head and now, three days later, it's still there. That could only mean one thing: it has to be shared....
Don't forget to take a look here to see how this song inspired Jane Menard (Tangle Jam) to draw her wonderful interpretation of it!
Catch a falling star an’ put it
in your pocket,
Never let it fade away! ♫
Catch a falling star an' put it in your pocket, Save it for a rainy day! ♫
For love may come an' tap you on
the shoulder ♫
Some star-less night!Just in case you feel you wanna’ hold her,
You’ll have a pocketful of starlight! ♫
Never let it fade away! (Never let it fade away!) ♫
Catch a falling star an’ (Catch a falling….) put it in your pocket,
Save it for a rainy day! (Save it for a rainy day!) ♫

"Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da"
My tangle pattern Orbs-la-Dee is named after this song by The Beatles. The text is funny and the music is catchy! This song realy cheers me up, when I'm having an off-day. Then, mostly without even noticing, this song comes to my mind....
Desmond has a barrow in the market place
Desmond has a barrow in the market place
Molly
is the singer in a band ♫
Desmond
says to Molly "girl I like your face"
And
Molly says this as she takes him by the hand ♫
Ob-la-di ob-la-da life goes on bra ♫
Ob-la-di ob-la-da life goes on bra ♫
La-la
how the life goes on
Ob-la-di
ob-la-da life goes on bra
♫

"(It's) A Kind of Magic"
Mandala #9
is named after this song by the unique Freddie Mercury and Queen. I find both
the lyrics and the music very appealing. After the much too early death of Freddy this song always gives me chills!
It's a kind of magic
It's a kind of magic ♫
A kind of magic - no
way
One dream, one soul,
one prize
♫
One goal, one golden
glance of what should be
It's a kind of magic ♫
One shaft of light
that shows the way
No mortal man can win
this day ♫
It's a kind of magic
The bell that rings
inside your mind
Is challenging the
doors of time ♫
It's a kind of magic
The waiting seems
eternity ♫
The day will dawn of
sanity
Ooh ooh ooh ooh
Is this a kind of
magic? ♫
It's a kind of magic
