Merry Mandala Monday #12

Hi there, here's the next  Merry Mandala Monday story. Our provider had to do technical adjustments to the server, that's why this post is a little late!

At first, quick sight this mandala looks a bit like a yantra, but it didn't turn out that way. It's because I was inspired by the Dutch book "Werken met Yantra's" by Marga Walburg, but I don't like to copy.
I started with the double rim and the square. I thought, it would be nice to draw a border with the same witdh in this square. Then came the connections and the small circle in the center. That one needed some filling. Because of the circles and the square I decided on two triangles forming a hexagram. There is too much to tell about this symbol to do it here. Just Google!
I love to draw Lotus leaves (I really have to watch out, that I don't use them in every mandala!), that urge I couldn't resist here ;-)
The almost luminescent square contrasts really nice with to the nightblue background.

Have a creative week!

Kind of Yantra
(2003/02/28)
